RECS: Program overview

The RECS Program

The intensive 10-day RECS program is led by a world-class faculty of CCS experts from industry, the research community, NGOs and government. It combines classroom instruction with group exercises, CCS site visits and hands-on activities including: geologic storage site characterization, CO2 monitoring, modeling fluid flow in the subsurface, CCS deployment strategies and communications training.

RECS 2011 was hosted by Southern Company in Birmingham, Alabama this past June 5-15, in collaboration with EnTech Strategies, SECARB-Ed and Southern Company with sponsorship from the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Fossil Energy and National Energy Technology Laboratory.

RECS 2012 will be tentatively held June 3-13 in Birmingham. Please follow the RECS blog for further updates.
