Biography
Sarah M. Wade is the Principal of Wade Group, a small energy and environmental consulting firm she founded in 2010. She has more than 20 years experience in environmental regulation and policy. Since 2000, her primary work has been related to the development and deployment of CCS technologies including public acceptance, regulations, and policy frameworks. Prior to her current position, Ms. Wade was a partner at AJW, Inc. Specific project experience includes: consulting to World Resources Institute for development of CCS Guidelines; serving as the coordinator of Outreach Working Group for the US Department of Energy Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership Initiative (co-author of the recently released Outreach Best Practices Manual); acting as a public outreach consultant to the Midwest Regional Carbon Sequestration Partnership; authoring CCS technology and policy status papers for several organizations representing public and private energy companies; consulting to the CCS Technology Transfer Center run by the Illinois State Geological Survey; and serving as public outreach consultant to several private companies undertaking CCS projects. Ms. Wade previously worked at the environmental NGO Environmental Defense Fund. In one of her key projects she assisted a handful of multi-national companies with the development of their internal greenhouse gas management programs and facilitated the Partnership for Climate Action. She also worked at the management consulting firm Hagler Bailly, where she helped utilities to comply with the acid rain program and respond to electricity deregulation. Ms. Wade started her career by working in state government in both the Massachusetts and Connecticut environmental protection agencies. She holds masters degrees in Environmental Studies and in Public and Private Management from Yale University.
