Biography
Dr. Sam Krevor (RECS 2005 and Alumni Mentor RECS 2010) is a Postdoctoral Scholar, Energy Resources Engineering in the Department of Energy Resources at Stanford University. His research focuses on the investigation of the multiphase flow properties of CO2 and water in reservoir rock materials using core-flooding experiments at high temperature and pressure, surface and subsurface monitoring of CO2 leakage through the use of rapid and mobile isotopic measurements, and theoretical work looking at the long-term fate of CO2 in the subsurface. Sam received his Ph.D. in 2008 from Columbia University's Center for Carbon Management within the Earth and Environmental Engineering Department. His dissertation was the Permanent Disposal of Greenhouse Gases Through Mineral Carbon Dioxide Sequestration, which focused on research of kinetic enhancements to the process through the use of catalysts and optimization of conditions for individual process steps. In 2007, Sam was the recipient of a Link Foundation Fellowship.
