Biography
Prem Bikkina is a Ph.D. candidate and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at The Univerity of Tulsa where his dissertation topic is related to oil-water dispersion characterization. He received his M.Tech in Chemical Engineering (with specialization in Petroleum Refinery Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati and a B. Tech in Chemical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Warangal. He has extensively worked on enhanced oil recovery using surfactants and his findings lead to an Indian patent (granted in 2011). He has also worked on high-pressure high temperature interfacial tension and contact angle measurements relevant to carbon sequestration in saline aquifers. Prem was awarded the 2008-2009 Distinguished Ph.D. Students Chapman Fellowship and was inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi for his academic excellence. Prem is also a reviewer for five international journals and is a member of various professional organizations, including the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
