Biography
Ambarish Kulkarni is a Ph.D. student at the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology where his research project involves modeling of adsorption processes for direct capture of CO2 from air. The goal is to develop processes that will be capable of capturing CO2 from ambient air without significant external energy inputs to the system. Another related aspect of his process is aimed at understanding the non-ideal CO2-water-amine adsorption at the fundamental level using molecular modeling. Ambarish received his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. During that period, he interned at Hindustan Petroleum refinery complex, primarily focusing on the potential improvements to the fluidized catalytic cracking process.
